Background
- 1. Derivation
One of most important compositions of Information Technology is software. But in Thailand, most softwares are imported with high expense. That makes problems of inequality in digital data accessing and high copyright violation. An adequate alternative for software use on a budget in Thailand is Open Source Software that makes equality of Information Technology data accessing. In addition, Open Source Software permit users to customize and for running business. Moreover, increasing usage encourages decreasing of software depending on other countries, monopoly on software and software import. And also, it increases quality of software in Thailand. However, we needs research and develop for appropriate software for usage in Thailand. For that reason, National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) established Open Source Software Laboratory (OSSL) in 2011.

- To collaborate and develop good quality Open Source Software according to Thai users requirements.
- To support Thai Open Source Software developer.
- To support Open Sources Software usage in Thailand.
