
Bangkok, Thailand – 26 February 2025, – Dr. Chalee Vorakulpipat, Research Group Director of the Communication and Networks Research Group at the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Thailand, delivered a compelling presentation at a recent side event organized by the Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) and the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR). The event, titled “Fostering Regional Cooperation for Sustainable Development through Technology Transfer and Innovation.
Dr. Chalee shared valuable overviews and perspectives on the critical role of technology transfer and innovation in driving sustainable development across the Asia-Pacific region. He also shared target objectives (human capacity and technology, social and environmental impact and economic growth), strategies and target sectors. Additionally, he emphasized the readiness of knowledge transfer in AI, AI-based cybersecurity, data privacy, and its supporting infrastructure, including cloud computing and high-performance computing (HPC), highlighting their roles in advancing capacity building and technological growth.
Dr. Chalee’s expertise in communication and network technologies provided a valuable contribution to the discussions on fostering regional cooperation.
The APCTT-DSIR side event served as a platform for experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to exchange ideas and explore collaborative opportunities in technology transfer and innovation. The event highlighted the importance of regional partnerships in addressing pressing challenges and promoting sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region.
