II Embedded system track

Application construction utilizing TOPPERS/JSP.

TOPPERS/JSP is an OSS in conformity with the uITRON4.0 specification. uITRON is an open spec for real-time kernel that is popular in Japan.

The objective is to learn the basics of embedded system programming. A target board furnished with Renesas CPU:H8/3069F will be used for training. In this course an instant noodle timer will be built using the provided training material.

Through these training material, the merits of utilizing operating system less and RTOS, Synchronization and communication between tasks, and I/O control of the board can be studied.

What is the difference between TOPPERS and non-implemented operating system
The difference between general operating systems and real-time kernels
Design techniques for embedded systems
Training using microcomputer board

Notes on Special Lectures

"T-Shirts vs. Kimono Approach in Software Quality Assurance": This presentation summarizes typical Japanese QA practices, and, compares with thoses of America and India from the different view points including busines strategies and cultural background. Also, new trends in software development after the year 2000 will be addressed.
