ABSTRACT -- Spatial ORDBMS is an advanced database system that extends spatial objects capability to a RDBMS. It can be used to solve decision-making problems that involve both GIS and MIS data in an effective manner. This paper describes the underlying technology, evolution and abstraction of Spatial ORDBMS in terms of data model and operations. It also presents a web-based application using Spatial ORDBMS that allows users to explore GIS and MIS information as an example.
