Thaweesak’s Publications IEE
Electronics Letters, Vol. 14, No. 15, 20th July 1978, UK. Implementation
of ternary identity cells using c.m.o.s. integrated circuits This short article was my first publication with the IEE. The
research project led to this discovery was about three weeks long. Why did
nobody think of this identity cell before? Most ternary logic papers were
modelling devices based on the concept of CMOS transmission gates, not by
switches made of pure transistors.
I did all of this work in my spare time while I was a Ph.D. student at
Imperial College of Science and Technology. (My Ph.D. subject is a lot
more complicated that this.)
Well, I did it first and the performance was great! Thanks to the
availability of the CD4007 chip. Without it, I would not easily complete the
investigation without contacting the IC fabrication companies. The total
materials used in the project cost less than three pound sterling.
