The Internet in Thailand: Our Milestones |

There have been so many events happening at my workplace,
NECTEC and
Internet
Thailand.
It might be best to summarise all these in my personal homepage so that
anyone interested in these events can keep track of what has happened
with my involvement, typically as the project leader.
- 1999/03/12: Electronic Commerce Information Resources.
- 1999/03/06: Internet Information Resource
Center - My new project to assem all frequently-asked information about the Internet
statistics in Thailand.
- 1999/02/14: Electronic books - Read these
valuable books at your leisure. I began with Macmillan's Frankenbooks.
- 1999/02/14: Story of Valentine, and useful
services (eg.cyber cards).
- 1998/11/28: Year 2000 -- my personal collection of useful sites.
- 1998/08/30: The Global Knowledge Links.
- 1998/07/01: I was appointed as Acting Director of the National Electronics
and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC).
My full appointment as NECTEC Director was announced on August 13, 1998.
- 1998.03.30: Everyone at NECTEC was very excited with the visit of H.R.H.Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. After a grand opening of the nationwide
network SchoolNet@1509, Her Royal Highness had a grand tour of
NECTEC at Bangkok Thai Tower and had a private discussion with NECTEC and MOSTE executives.

1997/04 - 1998/04 was year of a travelling. Throughout the whole year, I met many famous people: James Wolfensohn
(President of World Bank), Kofi Annan (UN Secretary General), José Maria Figueres (President of Costa Rica), Arno
Penzias (Lucent), Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer (MicroSoft), Andy Grove and Craig Barett (Intel), John Chambers
(Cisco), Ira Magaziner, Michael Dell (Dell), John Manley (MInister of Industry, Canada), Charles Wang and Sanjai
Kumar (Computer Associates) etc, to name a few.
- 1997/08/19: My personal collection of Internet Connectivities Maps of Thailand
has been transfered to the national service page at NECTEC. Now everyone can enjoy the
monthly update of the Internet Map
served by me and NECTEC's staff.
- 1997/01/13: My father passed away on January 2, 1997. We had a
week of funeral services at Wat
Phrasimahathat Woramahawiharn, Bangkhen . On behalf of my family, I
wish to thank to all who sent their
condolence messages, wreathes and attended the funeral services.

choice of Bangkok Governor. The Met Dept recommended us to go in the
morning and beat the afternoon rain. We will be
reporting the poll count
result at this web site soon after 15:00.

1996/05/23-27: The First Conference and Workshop on
IT for the Disabled.
The conference is hosted by The IT Project Under Royal Initiative of
H.R.H.Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn,
NITC, Ratchasuda
College, Mahidol University and NECTEC.

Members of Parliament comes to NECTEC for Internet Training on May 21st,
1996. Three more courses are on the way to tutor 150 MPs and senators by

on a quiet, sunny Sunday morning. I did this homepage
to test the new Apple QuickCam 150 digital camera. The
page will be proposed to
Thai Pavilion of the World Internet Exposition 1996
for an original content contribution. It was accepted!
